Eternity in Color

Not saying a word, the girl quietly walked toward Shirley and stood silently watching her paint. She watched in awe as Shirley methodically laid each brush stroke in its proper place. The little girl was timid, afraid to speak.

Trying to make conversation, Shirley asked her: 'Is this your church?''

Gaining confidence, the little girl said: ''This is where my mom and dad bring me to Church. We just moved her.''

''Do you like the icons?''

With a stronger voice the girl exclaimed: ''For sure! I wish I could paint like that.''

...before taking every photograph for this project you were making your cross. The same is in iconography. Before painting every icon, I was making my cross. Every painted icon reflects the Light of the Cross.

I have been impressed by our dialogue. I need time to understand, however there is no wish to go away. The afternoon hours are very peaceful in the churchyard. I want to thank the Lord for such a mood and I see doves on the cross. They enjoy their privileged position. The Duet of the Doves. I feel that Theotokos creates conditions for my religious devotion. Holy Trinity spirit in the duet of the doves sitting on the blessed cross.

I came up to the olive tree and started shooting the cross through the olive tree branches. Beautiful shots of the blessed day! My imagination goes beyond our cosmos. The four dimensions are not enough to describe my state: Time and Space are confined. The Divine Vector gives a spirit of dynamic movement. I do not want to understand these conditions, I can only feel that my soul has wings and I fly. How many wings does my soul have? There is no wish to quantify anything. Infinity of Eternity. Eternity of Infinity. My heartfelt gratitude to the Icon of Theotokos from Saint Demetrios Church in Serres.

ENIGMA OF BYZANTINE RED or A PRAYER ON A RAINY DAY

On a rainy day the road leading to the church is blessed.

On a rainy day the Byzantine Red shades give Hope.

On a rainy day my heart is winged like the Two-Headed-Eagle.

On a rainy day I imagine a read leaves dance.

On a rainy day I walk and pray with the gratitude

For being Here and Now.

But I have a dream. I want to travel back in Time

To discover and feel the ENIGMA OF BYZANTINE READ.
